    For once, this patch does not bring any new content to the game, but it does include many other improvements.


    ✨ New home page

    The home page – also known as the landing page – has been completely redesigned. It now has a new, modern design and optimised content, giving new visitors a better idea of what the game is all about.


    Note: you may need to clear your cache if the page looks ‘broken’ at first.


    From old to new: The new Funfair Tycoon landing page


    ⚡Instant Play: The new guest mode in Funfair Tycoon

    It has never been easier to play Funfair Tycoon. Instead of the classic registration with email, username and password (+ email verification), you can now start the game with a single click.

    Instant Play – or guest mode – is mainly there so that you can try out the game quickly. It removes another hurdle for new players, as you can now explore the game before deciding whether you want to stay.

    Community features such as chatting with other players and using the forum, as well as changing your player name, profile picture or other content, are not available in this mode. You can enter your email address at any time to create a full account.


    ⚙️ Settings: New UI

    The game settings have been redesigned and are now clearer. The user guidance has also been improved. For example, if you want to reset or delete your game score, you are now guided through the process step by step. Confirmations are no longer as easy as before, so you can't accidentally do something wrong.

    Account deletion has also been improved. If you no longer want to play, you can now delete your account yourself at any time. Previously, there were cases where you had to contact support first.


    🔑 New: Change login details

    Previously, you could change your password in the game settings, but your email address always had to be changed by support.

    The new ‘Change email address’ function is designed for this purpose. It is now very easy to enter a new email address and confirm it with a code that is sent by email.

    The password change process has been standardised. This process now always runs via the ‘Forgot your password’ function on the start page. This has also been completely redesigned. Our system no longer generates temporary passwords; instead, you will receive an email with a confirmation code, which you can then use to set a new password directly.


    ✏️ New function: Change player name

    You can now change your player name on your profile. The most important things to note:

    • The first change is free for every player, each additional change costs credits
    • Changes are only possible every 30 days
    • After a change, a note will be displayed on your profile for 30 days so that your fellow players can see the change
    • The change always applies to all game worlds and the forum


    🎨 UI adjustments

    The navigation bar in the game is now tidier and has been given a little more colour.

    Player profiles have also been slightly revised, mainly to bring the buttons for changing profile pictures and descriptions in line with the new feature (change player name).


    📄 Forum: Improved connection to the game

    In the past, there were occasional problems with players who were logged out of the forum and could not log back in.

    All links from the game to the forum now ensure that you are logged in.

    In addition, the content languages of the game are also updated. For example, if you select English in the game, you will also see English-language topics in the forum. This setting can be changed at any time in the forum (as before).


    🪲 Fixed bugs

    • Premium account: Automatic renewal was no longer working
    • Firefox: The tutorial often did not load properly


    📘 Legal changes

    The changes regarding the new guest mode and our new landing page have necessitated a change to the terms and conditions and privacy policy. For this reason, both have been revised to incorporate fundamental changes, e.g. due to new legal regulations. In the game, you will be asked to agree to the new Terms and Conditions.

    Rules of the game: Our rules of the game have been slightly updated and are now more precisely worded. There are changes to the content of the following rules:

    • Inactivity: Instead of the previous 4 weeks of inactivity, the provisions of the terms and conditions now apply (30 days for guest accounts, 365 days for registered players).
    • Ad blockers, scripts and bots: Ad blockers are no longer prohibited, but scripts and bots for automating the game are.

    Cookies: Funfair Tycoon no longer uses tracking or marketing cookies. This means that consent no longer needs to be obtained, so a cookie banner is no longer necessary and has been removed.

    This patch is intended to make the game a little more mature. These are the building blocks for a long-term future, so this is part of my job, and I hope you understand. Of course, there will also be new content and improvements for the game itself in the near future :)
